Team USA Soccer upsets World #1 ranked Spain in the Confederations Cup Semi-Finals!Wow, a huge day for Bocanegra and the boys. Probably their biggest day ever! The game was a lot closer than the final score of 2-0 showed. For a large portion of the game, the Spaniards were on the attack and tested Tim Howard with shot after shot at the goal. Luckily, Howard withstood the test, with some help from the stout American defense. Landon Donovan was athletic as ever, and Jozy Altidore and Clint Dempsey stepped up with a goal each! It's really funny the reactions that I have seen on message boards across the internet about this. Americans who watched the game and care about the sport are ecstatic! Europeans show an envious side and have denigrated this victory as insignificant. However, it has to be said that the 2009 US team is the first team to beat Spain since 2006 and stop their world record 36th game without a loss! Coach Bob Bradley looks like he has new life and at least a few more chances to breathe in the hot seat. We'll let the boys rest and enjoy this one as they have a MAJOR test coming up on Sunday. They will be facing the winner of the Brazil vs. South Africa Semi-Final match that will be played tomorrow! Wow, I guess we can play this game after all! USA USA!
